Discounts and Coupons

Does anybody know any decent sites for these? I have looked at Groupon but really can not get to grips with it but I'd love to acquire a few discount codes for example trying to book a weeks car hire here in France. For UK sites, I always check TopCashBack and Moneysavingexpert.com

Any suggestions anyone please?

Here is one we use when we are in France: http://www.poulpeo.com/ - Best wishes.

I usually write down a list of companies or websites that offer a service or item I want, then google the name with the word "coupon" or "reduction". If you put your google search in French or France, you should come up with different websites with coupon codes or links. I find Groupon isn't really adapted for this type of use, unless you live in a huge city.

This website seems to have a few good coupons/money off ideas.

Hi Tracy,

Sometimes this website has codes for free delivery or reductions especially online sites; also a wealth of good ideas on many subjects.

Whilst we sometimes get fed up of all the junkmail that the postie delivers we find that the local supermarket freebie broadsheets do alert us to offers every week. It's only 5 minutes to glance thro' and find items that either you buy regularly like orange juice or perhaps something special like salmon steaks, on a 2 for 1 offer. A lot of produce featured also offers double points on your loyalty card.

The other ploy we use a lot is to find an item on one of French comparison internet sites that we want to buy eg a new vacuum cleaner, print off the details and internet price, then march along to our local white goods store, find the same vacuum on a shelf (usually at a much inflated price) and say "match this internet price and we'll buy the one off your shelf". Recently saved 100 euros on a Miele vacuum doing just this and gained from local "back-up" should it go wrong , rather than having to deal with an internet sent 100 of miles away and the supplier who wouldn't be readily available in case of problems.

We have used groupon several times .Both in UK and France. We have always had a GREAT DEAL.

Speak as you find .

Hi Tracy, try cashstore.fr. I can never remember to use it, but it looks interesting. If you want further information, I blogged about it back in 2011 here http://www.sarahhague.com/search/label/Cashstore

Avoid Groupon you have no comeback if you have a problem you just get shuttled between them and the supplier with bth parties blaming the other!
