To all dog walkers in rural areas please beware of traps. The hunt season may be over but the chasse may still have authorisation to set traps for fox, fouine and ragondan. Our dog was caught in one today and apart from a very sore foot for her, a sore hand for my husband and a combined vet/doctors bill of over 70€ all is well. It could have been so much worse.
I have visited the Mairie but these traps are legal and had been authorised to be set in the commune. I will be requesting signage so we can avoid them in the future, but I don’t suppose much more can be done except spreading the word to avoid other sore paws.
