House for sale Leran, Ariege, Midi Pyrenees

Hi,

Our lovely village house is for sale if anyone is interested. It is in the beautiful and popular village of Leran (which has a wonderful bar/restaurant!)

The whole house has been recently refurbished but all original features have been retained. The colombage exterior is delightful.

It is on three floors and comprises of a newly converted kitchen/diner on the ground floor with cloak/WC and French doors leading out. A huge lounge on the 1st floor with beams, fireplace, wood flooring and feature window with Juliet balcony. Finally the large bedroom and bathroom (with newly fitted shower) are on the 2nd floor. The bedroom is large enough to split into two bedrooms if required.

There is no outside space, which some will see as a disadvantage but for us it just means less work and makes the property a perfect 'lock up and leave.' There is room on the pavement outside for a small table and chairs/bench if wanted (which is what most in the village do - unless they are in the village bar!)

The recently reduced price is 55000euros but we are open to sensible offers. The house has been our holiday home for several years and is only for sale to fund our next French project.

If anyone is interested please contact me for photos and any more information you may require.

Thank you for looking

Here is a link to our advert on Greenacres if anyone is interested.

Hello Kate,
Is your house still for sale.?

Chris Rogers

Hi,
Believe it or not it is just about to go back onto the market. We took it off earlier this year to concentrate on holiday let’s. We’ve been fully booked July and August so glad we did!
Are you interested in it?
Regards,
Kate

Hi all,

We are now remarketing the property for sale but I thought I’d include a link to our Airbnb advert. Please take a look.

Thanks

Or perhaps I’m not allowed to do that??? Can anyone tell me if its ok to put a link on here?

Thanks.

@Kate_Soldado

There is a specific “Business Listings” section on this forum… why not post the link there…:relaxed:

Hello Kate, I am interested in the house - we are staying with friends here in St. Jory de Chalais until next week when we are embarking on a long trip from the UK to Australia and New Zealand - so timing is not great.! Not back to France/ home in Menorca until the end of November. If the property is still available when we return we would be very interested.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Such amazing coincidences with the places you mention. St Jory is one of the places we are considering buying in next and my husband is from Menorca! Born and bred in Ciutadella!
Anyway, of course if our place in Leran is still available, just drop me a line when you’re available to view. We have an agent who is dealing with the sale for us as we are still in the UK so she does the viewings.
I will send you some new photos via personal message later today if you like.
Best wishes,
Kate

Amazing indeed.! We had a holiday apartment for some years from 1989 and
have lived in our finca in the Menorcan countryside (Binicalaf) which we
bought in 2006 for the last 4 years, looking to buy a small place to escape
to a slightly cooler area during July/August without being too far into
France, more photos would be nice… you might find some interesting
photos of Menorca on my FB page.

Thanks

Chris

Hi is your house in Leran still for sale?

Hi, sorry no. It sold in 2018. We are now living in the beautiful Charente department

And what do you think of the Charente compared to the Ariège?

Well for us, as lovely as Ariege is, we prefer Charente. It is much better suited to our lifestyle and family. We have horses so feel the climate is better for them. Also we love the scenery here, the green, rolling hills and gentle undulating ground reminders us of our previous home of the Yorkshire Dales (but with the lovely weather!)
The Charente feels more like home to us than Ariege ever did. Although our house in Ariege was only ever a holiday home, I never felt it was an area I’d like to live in full time. Can’t say exactly why, just my opinion. We’ve been here in Charente since April 2018, our little girl is well settled into school and we had another baby here last April. We absolutely love it and plan to be here for the foreseeable future.

Yep, better climate for the horses, unless they’re mérens! We love the Ariège and often holiday there, it’s not far from us and we get to escape the heat in the Tarn + I get to climb plenty of mountains (done the ariègeoise a few times now). Weather certainmy better than Yorkshire and not as hot as the south either, enjoy!
