Ride on mower

Agh it won’t start. Put a new battery on at weekend it’s fully charged but ignition just clicks I have no idea about any sort of engine. So I think it may be solenoid please any help in locating it or does anyone know anyone who will help fix it please. Have tried local firm in vic en bigore but they did not want to know.

How does one cure it if it is please

It could simply be that the pinion (cog) on your starter motor has jammed against the ring gear on the crankshaft - a common problem on older mowers (& cars...).

Cheers, battery reads full charged when I put it on charger but I,ll clean up terminals and retry light test

Is it fully charged? Have you tested it? If you have lights on your mower are they very bright? A 'clicking' sound from the solenoid when trying to start is a good sign of low battery voltage. You could try jump leads from your car (assuming mower is 12 volt) or even leave the battery charger connected & turned on in 'MAX' or similar. My charger in tandem with a low battery is often enough to persuade my mower to start. Dirty connections on the BIG cables can cause a high resistance & hence voltage drop.
