RSI and Ramgamex

RSI and Ramgamex. Husband is an autoentrepreneur and I am his dependent. Am registered on and visible on Ramgamex site but when I recently attended the doctor I wasn’t on his carte vitale. Sent feuilles to RSI and they have been returned with a slip of paper saying ‘you are not known’. Have sent my birth certificate and translations to 4 separate offices around France. Help anyone, is there an English speaking helpline who can put me on the RSI system.

Cahors here I come. Thanks Claire.

Thanks Terry, much appreciated.

Have a look at the Autoentrepreneurs section of Useful Links, Lesley. There are links to discussions on the SFN Autoentrepreneurs group where you will find a lot of useful advice. There is a phone number for RSI in the Help Lines section of Useful Links but I suspect it's French.

I am entitled to a Carte Vital via my husband but it is the same number as my husbands.

My husband became an autoentrepreneur in January and we had to reapply too. As Claire mentions it required all our paperwork translated into French and attested by a court appointed translator. My husband just had his card updated but for me they withdrew my card and told me it would take at least four months to arrive but in the meantime to use his for my monthly prescription and dental visits etc. It still hasn't arrived. The Doctor accepted the situation immediately. My first few visits to the chemists however caused a bit of confusion and to start with they said I wasn't covered but after explaining the situation to them and telling them what I had explained to me, they did accept his card. At the dentists they accepted it after my explanation but came back to me when they too had been told I was 'unknown'. I copied our paperwork and they sent that off to someone in Perpignan which seemed to sort out the situation.

I totally agree with Clare that face-to-face is far more effective in this country than writing or even phoning, I am not sure why but I am sure it is.

Hi Lesley, firstly, you should have your own carte vitale, you shouldn't appear on your husbands as you will have a separate social security number because you are female. How long has you husband been AE? When you get the original attestation ie; pre carte vitale, from RSI, it should have both your names on that. If it has got your name on it, you need to go to RAM with sadly all you docs again & the original attestation to prove that you were under his rights to healthcare 'ayant droits' as they call it. They will probably have to be translated as well. If you are not on the original certificate then you will also have to go & fight your corner on this one with RSI before approaching RAM with a translated marriage certificate as well. Be prepared when we went they wanted my passport and everything. If they have one piece missing they usually turn you away. Explain that you have sent the docs in before and you want the situation dealt with there and then. If you politely say that you cannot leave til it is dealt with they generally just get on with it. If you just leave the docs they will get put in a pile again and you will have delays. I find that face to face always works, even if you send docs in registered post they still don't deal with it. Our problem lay with the fact that RSI had not sent the file to RAM and we insisted that the woman at RAM called RSI and then it was sorted in 10 mins. Good luck
