SFR.... Internet ...aaaaarrrrgh

Is there anyone out there..... who knows a number....that I can dial...IN A PUBLIC CALL BOX...not on a mobile..(.I havnt got one...and none work here anyway as there's a massive lump of cliff that gets in the way...)

......in order to speak to the blokes who deal with SFR problemes techniques.....???

Once, years ago..I got the 'SFR Boutique' people to report my breakdown once.....by chaining myself to their mobiles display, or similar....

Now...all I want to do is report a very dodgy.. gappy.. reception..for my neufbox...along with a permanent absence of 'green light'...(that green light...has not mattered much in the past...)

And attempt to get the xxxxxxxxxx thing fixed, permanently... so I can get pressing work done

..I am miles away from a phone box...and do not think the 1023 assistance, works in a public phone box anyway...

I know you are all v busy...

I thought...maybe somebody knows THE...number to call...

I keep trying meanwhile...to contact assistance technique here..

..whenever the thing *actually connects*

..as it would NOW...for 2 minutes...but it all dies...or the lady says ...'everyone is busy, so clear off till later'

...etc etc etc...

A public phone box contact number for SFR anyone?

Does 1023, in fact...connect via a public call box?

Thank you, for giving any of this a split second of your thought...

I think of doing that, Peter...each time I go through the 'Boutique' routine again..

Maybe I will do it now....

Change companies Jeanette, I packed SFR in after loads of hassle.

You are kind to think about it, thank you, Andrew..

......it fixed itself at last..

...yes I always do the unplug replug thing...!!

But there will be a ......next time....

I will talk to them...and discover what I can do if it breaks down...sans mobile...

before it all happens again...

The thing is...you don't get to talk to a human technician...until you have answered the recorded questions...and keyed in your phone number...which is then...(also sans real human)...checked back.

I know there was no way to get past that in a public call box , last time...but won't know if it still works that way ...unless I ask...

I guess you've already done this a hundred times but just in case you haven't, pull the power supply lead out of the neufbox (the black one that connects at the end of the run of sockets/ports) leave a minute or two to cool off and reset then plug it back in again. That usually works with my neufbox at home and my orange livebox at work. The 1023 number should work from a callbox as it works from normal landlines.

Courage ;-)
