Just an idea for a new business, based on my inability to locate a teleassistance service for the elderly or disabled who are guaranteed to speak and understand English. You know the sort of thing - a necklace, bracelet or alarm button system which alerts a centre station when someone (either living alone or has been left alone by their carer out on necessary business or shopping) falls, suddenly feels ill or has a heart attack etc. so that they can receive urgent emergency assistance.
There are many thousands of Expats in France whose native language is English and whose aptitude for either learning or conversing in french is limited especially as they get older or when they are not feeling themselves or have been traumatised or have suffered a stroke etc. and their speech has become incoherent. I've read that we all revert to our native language on our death beds.
Unless you know better (and I personally would be thrilled to hear of one), there is no service of this type in France for them.
