if you havn't got a data plan on a french sim card it will cost a lot ...itused to be at least 3 euros per megabyte ....you should get at least 5gb per month on a freefr sim like my wifes ...I am with bougtel which is unlimited but afer 6gb it slows down until the end of the month
no problem, using bluetooth is more reliable though so enable personal hotspot, turn on blutooth on the phone, turn on bluetooth on the ipad and click the iphone to join it .....internet will start automatically ...job done
