I am seriously thinking about buying a second/holiday home in the south of France. What I would like is what I think they (in the trade) call a 'lock up and go' property. I've got my eye on something in Provence in a secure residence with swimming pool, tennis court, etc, but I would like to look at a few other places before making my mind up. Does anybody know of anything in their area? I would like something with a least 2 bedrooms and the budget is up to 150 000 eur.

They are for sale by owner so no estate agents fees to pay.

Permalink Reply by Peter Elias on January 19, 2012 at 10:11 I am marketing a lodge, with 3 bedrooms, very competitively priced at 125,000 €. This gives you access to the leisure facilities of the country club (swimming pools & tennis courts) and discounted membership of the golf club.
Located near Souillac in the Lot, there are plenty of attractions such as Rocamadour & Sarlat right on your doorstep. There is also a letting programme available if you want to generate some income from your purchase.
If you are a golfer, CityJet fly to Brive airport (golf clubs free).

I am selling a property in the centre of Salies de Bearn (64270) in the Pyrenees Atlantiques. Salies is a medieval spa town with golf course, tennis courts, thermal baths and beauty centre, many bars and restaurants and a very lively atmosphere. We are one hour from both the sea, the mountains and Spain. The property is 100m2 with 3/4 bedrooms, bathroom, loo, kitchen, laundry room and large living room with balcony. Full rewired and redecorated with new bathroom and radiators throughout. The roof has recently been replaced and there are brand new hardwood doulble glazed windows. Send me an email and I will send you pix.

Permalink Reply by Anne Stanley on March 15, 2012 at 21:39 Hi Therese,
I live in Fitou, Aude and sell properties in the area. I would suggest that you consider a lovely development on the hills above the lovely Fitou wine village. The development has a mix of properties including two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom villas. There are two shared swimming pools and communal gardens. Lots of the properties have stunning views of the inland salt water lagoon and the Mediterranean sea.
The village is within walking distance where there are several great restaurants, a chateau with bar, supermarket, bar/tabac, tennis court, post office etc.
The development is surrounded by vines and open countryside but only about ten minutes drive to the beach and about 90 minutes drive to ski resorts in the Pyrenees mountains.
We currently have a few re-sale two bedroom apartments for sale within your budget. More details can be seen on our website at http://www.fitoupropertyservices.com/property-buy.php
Feel free to give me a call or send an email if you'd like more information.
Regards,
Anne
Permalink Reply by Therese Rigby on March 24, 2012 at 23:01 Hi Anne,
Thanks for the info. It's a similar kind of development to the one I like in Provence, but on a bigger scale. However, the 2-bed appartments would be too small and the others are out of my price range. I have been looking around a lot on the internet and it seems I can get a lot more space for the same money in the SW .

These two village houses might suit:
* in the Aude - in the wine village of Trèbes just 5 mins from Carcassonne and 10 from the airport: 4 bedrooms, no garden, lock-up-and-leave - €76,200
* Right in the centre of the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in the Lot: three floors, lots of space. €125k
Both to be found on Gites for Sale France
good luck!
Simon
