A peg loom is the simplest to make - especially with a 'handy' husband!!

I have seen, and now hanker after a 'peg loom' big enough to make rugs with - which can be using with spun 'rovings' (I think that's what they're called). Also great for using up those metres of fabric.

I'm always knitting - there's always *something* on the go. I've just finished a shawl for my MIL, and am in the middle of a challenge to knit 7 pairs of socks this year. I'm on pair no 3 (I think...). I've also just learned how to spin, so that's taking up quite a lot of my free time at the moment. I go to a group once a month, and we try to have a go at something different each time - in June we're doing Indigo dyeing. Which will give me some more fibre to spin! (And eventually knit...) :-)

I've just finished crocheting a baby bunny comfort blanket & booties. Still have a hexagon throw to finish - long-winded w.i.p. I'm about to start edging table cloths and making bunting for a jubilee party next weekend. One of those things you think is a good idea at the time but then you start to realise you have loads to do! I tried to buy an Olaf rotary cutter & mat today but with no joy. I shouldn't be surprised, I find it so difficult to buy anything like this locally. I expect I could have got it in Bordeaux but I haven't go time to go there. I might see if I can get it delivered in the next couple of days, but I'm not holding my breath.

Margo, I'm glad to see someone else scoured the brocantes and vide greniers for sewing & knitting bits. I have picked up some lovely bits of lace and embroidery.

I've got 2 'knitteds' to finish - a wedding ring shawl for my d-i-l , using a single ply (bought from fascinating yarns) but it is so fine and fiddly I can only work on it for a short while at a time, and socks (I am a sock-knitting addict). Also, long term crochet afghan to do.

I have ground to a complete halt - what with the garden growing apace and the start of the silly season (I am estate agent) - I have no idea when I will have the time to pick up my needles again

I've been busy dyeing cotton samples for a class in the Averyon at the end of June. It's been fun doing a colour wheel and other bits of playing. Last weekend was the local brocante in the village. Over the years I've picked up bits and pieces. One year a sewing machine, another a box of old embroidery pattern sheets - the oldest dates to 1936 and this year I got a spinning wheel. I do not know how to spin so have spent today on the internet trying to find out what to do. Of course it didn't have a the cord around the fly wheel and so on. I think it must be a double drive so will go get some strong string and try to set it up - youtube is great for this. I now need to practise and see what I can do. I do have some sheep's wool that was given to me a few years ago but it is in its raw state. I think I have some rovings from when I tried wet felting so will probably practise with those.

Just finished a cardigan with a pattern downloaded from ravelry.com and using lovely eco+ wool from nuttyknittingsupplies.co.uk - I have plenty more patterns lined up in my library but I'm just about to start the second of a pair of lacy pattern socks.
