Hi Beth,

Thanks for the info, I am looking forward to doing alot of meandering! I'm not sure where you are but we will hopefully be living just outside of Aubin by the end of April. We have bought a small farm there and eventually I hope to do liveries, and maybe abit of reschooling, buying and selling. My partner and I have both spent most of our lives abroad. I did my AI along time ago and worked mostly with eventers in Germany, Italy and Poland. I too, have had a long break due to a divorce, a 2yr old and a change of career (naturopathy, Functional Medicine) but now I am really happy I can get back into my first love, although I think I am abit long in the tooth to get back into eventing. I love flatwork and hacking so thats why I thought maybe endurance or TREC, plus its something I can do with my now 9yr. I don't own any horses at present but I have a two place lorry waiting in Blighty to stick at least one pony in and maybe a horse for me? although I really fancy going to Germany to see my friends and find something there. I won't have much time for training this year as we have alot of renovating to do before winter hits again. But maybe further down the road we can do a ride together. Cheers! Sarah

Hi,

I went to some shows years ago before I had my first child - I now have 4! I did do a few treks too and they were good fun, I went with an association which is at the Bastile du Temple, but I haven't been for a while. I would be interested in going again  if I can mange to find the time, although my New Forest is 19 now but he is as keen as ever to do things and sometimes still thinks he is a 3 year old!  The vet said he is in great shape though so maybe I could do a small one.... The other ponies are a bit too small for me and I got them more for my kids as they keep trying to nick my pony!

Have a great New Year too

Hi Beth,

I am so sorry about you having to PTS your horses it must of been so hard for you. I have 3 ponies, a New Forest, a Shetland and one of unknown breed. I love going for rides here and feel very lucky to be able to ride without having cars racing past me all the time and lovely sunshine most of the year. Where do you live exactly?  I live in Les Barthes which is also in the 82 and situated near Castelsarrasin and Moissac and have lived in this area for 17 years.

Dear Beth

Welcome to the network - we hope you find it useful!

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to upload a photograph of yourself so NOT your cat or your company logo (!), to your profile (use the setting button on the right hand side of your page) and once you've completed your profile information, you will be able to see your location on the 'Members Map'. This feature is a great way to find other people in your area so do make sure you add your location - that way other people will be able to find you too! And do add as much information to your profile as possible. Again, that way SFN members searching for people with similar interests, hobbies and occupations will be able to connect with each other.

Feel free to join any groups that look interesting or suggest your own. The groups can all be found in the social tab at the top of the page. If you're a blogger you can also add your blog posts to SFN - we love reading them!

You can list items for sale in the Bring Buy and Sell group and add any events to the Events page. And come and say 'Hi' in the chat window - we're all very friendly!

Best wishes
Catharine and James
