Death is an expensive business

Whatever else you do in France (or anywhere else for that matter) don't die without making sure there is provision for your wishes.

Like everything else the cost of dying has gone up - hospital, morgue,undertaker,cars,pall-bearers,coffin,flowers,plot in the cemetery/crematorium, admin fees,headstone/tomb,notaire fees. Until you have to deal with it, you don't realise what's involved and the cost of everything - scary stuff!

So here is my rough and ready guide to Death in France…

Ok, I will do what I can.  Look forward to it.  Hope you have a good day, still damp and dreary here, I've got plenty of housework and french homework to be getting on with......

Hi there, yes, if you let me know what it entails and how long I need to spend, I'm sure I can help out in some way.  Having a nice Sunday, thankfully no rain, but windy here.  Lots of rain last night though - much needed in these parts. x

Hi Jacqui,
Was going to ask you to be my buddy, but stioll don't know how to.
Re: Admin ... I don't think so. I'm a very sick person (mentally okay, though haha) and zap in and out of hospitals and such, so you couldn't really count on me. I can also just die (almost did 3 times last year) and you'd never know. I would love to do it, but one must be realistic, non?
Glad to be your pal, though.
Bisous (2/3 here),

Very good post, Jacqui. Most people don't want to think about the fact that we all, one day, go to the happy Hunting Grounds. Better take out an insurance (not expensive)and decide what you want when you're still 'all there' mentally and physically.
Giggle: I had a huge fight with the undertaker over my coffin. I refuse one of those horrid candy boxes, he found that more than shocking (especially after having to deal with me wanting to be cremated and no religious doodah).
