This is ME!

Having finished uni last year, I knew that I didn't want to stay in the UK for long and a random job search one grey and drizzly afternoon led me to getting a job in Disneyland Paris. It is far from my dream job but it allowed me to move to France with a job and accommodation guaranteed - very important when moving to another country. It also allowed me to meet le petit copain and so I am very lucky and grateful for that. However, I now feel that it is time to move on career wise although I am not sure what the next step is. Eventually I want to teach English but not just yet. Ideally for now, I am looking for experience in the tourism industry. This was what I was hoping for from my job at Disney but unfortunately I found myself placed in merchandise. This is not the first time I have worked in France but hopefully it is the last time that I have to make the move and can finally find somewhere more permanent to settle down in (well for the time being anyway =P)

Parrot in need of foster home! Please help!

When I moved to France I had to leave behind a menagerie of animals with my family. Then my parents also moved away to Dubai and so had to find new homes for all the animals. They thought these homes were pretty stable and were happy with what they had achieved even though they were broken-hearted about having to leave behind their family members. One of the animals is a parrot named Jasper. He really was my dad's favorite and so they found Nima temporary home for the two years that they were…See More

Help desperately need for NOWZAD Charity

Hey guys,Just a little back story - NOWZAD is a charity started by an ex-marine when he fell in love with a stray dog in Afghanistan. It's been going a few years and helps soldiers rescue the dogs and cats that stop them going insane while on deployment. These pets are so very important to our brave soldiers. Even stories of them saving their lives. But now NOWZAD is in big trouble. I'll let the founder Pen Farthing explain things in his own words:Afghanistan is a country of equal hope and…See More

Help with private lessons please!

Hey everyone,I'm looking for some advice please - I have just picked up a new student (my first here in France) and I have my first lesson with him on Saturday. It's going to be 2 hours long (at his request) so I need some ideas to try and fill the time. I really don't want there to be any awkward pauses. The problem I'm finding is that he is an older businessman and not the usual young students I'm used to that I can just play games with or talk about celebrities.Any advice will be greatly…See More
