7 Things I love about Living in France

Posted on October 17, 2011 at 11:20 4 Comments

We recently passed our 7th anniversary of living in France and it’s got me thinking about our lives here and how much they’ve changed – mostly for the better.  However, looking back though the posts I’ve made on my blog over the last few months, I noticed that many of them could be interpreted as negative.…

Losing weight in France

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 13:01 11 Comments

Come on, admit it. Well, I recently lost over 2 stone and as many people have been asking me how I did, I thought I'd share my secrets with you

I haven’t been slim since I had my first child over 21 years ago. I’ve sort of hovered around size 14 – 16. In England I felt about average…

I always know when Summer's over - not because I have to dig out the jumpers or the days are getting shorter, but by the number of settings around the dinner table. The heady days of average table settings of 14 are becoming a distant memory. Our maximum this summer hit 50 catering for our Gardening Club barbecue, a one off yes, but we never had less than 9 for dinner.

Now family have gone back to England, the gites are empty, my eldest is back at Uni, 2nd eldest is back to weekly… Continue

I need help - I’m trying to plan a 16 hour car journey with my 3 youngest children (9, 6 and 3). In 3 weeks I’ll be setting off on the nearly 1200km journey from our home in South West France to visit family in South East England. My husband is staying here to hold the fort and so I’m journeying as the sole driver with… Continue
