Christmas, candles lit
in welcome windows
Christmas, shopping buy
buy buy and screw the budget
Christmas, overeating venison
hit the booze pop the champers
get pissed while millions
all around the world will starve
to death during Christmas,
without a home; Christmas
in a cardboard box outside
Christmas, new expensive
clothes for wild and sex-filled
parties f****** up a happy
marriage…

I am sending a private message to you.

Glyn Pope said… I saw it and thought it would be useful for getting publicity for our Literary Festival here. I don't like the title/concept as though living in France is some kind of hardship. Many here are retired with enough cash to live on. If living in France is a hardship without their fish and chips and Marks and Spencer then, go back to the UK! Love glynx

Sue Birch said… Thanks for the friend request Ruth. I hope things work out for you. Looks like you may have found some useful contacts on this site. Keep your pecker up, as we English say. (I have no idea what a pecker is, but keeps yours up anyway!) Take care, Sue
Hi Ruth
I have been talking to a couple of friends round here who have had similar problems to you. My french friend says you must call the Assistante SOciale to come and see you and they will come to the house esp if you say you are disabled. THey know everything (and I can vouch for that because I have helped someone else english so was there to translate).
Secondly you can deal with the bank by writing a letter waying you wish to arreter l'autorisation. I did it with my english friend when he attacked her in front of me and tried to strangle her. I eventually pulled him off getting knocked down in the process and we had a terrible time getting the police to do anything about it - long story - but he was banned from France eventually - what nationality is your husband? Because he was running up debts on the joint account she demanded to have her name taken off.
My french friend whose husband left her with €16,000 of debts says you must deal with it 'sous tutelle' or 'curatel' (dont know what it means though).
If you cannot manage on your own I will come down for a short while and sort this out with you if you are willing to pay my petrol - I am in Central France.
corey koch said… Thank you for your invitation as a friend and I have volunteers who stay for a month or sometimes 2 months or more, so you can state that in your profile and ask for people for any length of time.
It is worth pursuing
Good luck
Hi Ruth,
Wow, the dignity of your ad will cetainly be causing a stir, as much as the details of your battle against oppression. Been there with a similar abuser, but hey, the best revenge is to try and live a true life...true to yourself and to your talents and your beliefs. The dross will just have to fall away. Mine did.
I'd be really interested in finding out more about the position you have advertised.
Courage!
Lizzie
