...was all abit of a blur but we LOVED it!... it was raining and windy and cold but the crowds came out and laughed and cheered and waved flags with great enthusiasm... and as soon as the poor 'lantern rouge' had cycled past we drove the 10 minutes home to watch the finish in Lavaur on TV... our lovely area of the Lauragais and Puylaurens looked beautiful even in such inclement weather…

know your bread?

Posted on July 7, 2011 at 8:43 3 Comments

one of the reasons we moved to france was for the bread... in our little rural part of the Lauragais 81 there are perhaps 20 independant boulangeries selling stunning, unusual and different bread...

oh my, how confused we are! is it a baguette? a flute? a ficelle?

i'm thinking a guide to bread would be a good idea. I'll start with 2 favourites from the very local baker (with a piece of a4 paper to give an idea of size)

a flute

Worth it?  Hard to say.  I know some members get a lot of work.  Get one student and you might get referrals.  We live in a village, so not too many here interested in learning English.  We signed up with a couple of organisations that source French students who want to learn English with out the expense of going to Ireland, UK, or USA.  Still waiting to hear from anyone.

Hi Teresa.  I didn't know there was a member running TEFL.  I did it back in Ireland as we had to go home for a month anyway to sort out stuff.  Is he part of an organisation or is he an independant?  I did the course through "i-to-i" and found them very good.  The weekend intensive part with teaching practice was very good.

Ah, I hadn't clicked on the link, so I thought it was free! Yes, that is a bit of a rip off.

By the way, I sent a very polite e mail to Mr Craig, but I think he must have deleted it without reading it, cos I got a Non-read receipt back, so I'll just have to hope that he read what you gave him :-(

Best of luck with the move and don't forget to let me know if i can help.

Bonne soirée,

Wendy
