Years ago, I wrote a song called 'Be My Valentine' for a girl I was madly in love with … the song was great, but not her response! Oh, well! However, I have just made a short 3D animation video of it. If anyone cares to have a look…

Happy Valentine's Day!

Years ago, I wrote a song called 'Be My Valentine'. It was for a girl, with whom I was madly in love. However, she was not madly in love with me! C'est la vie! (See how my French has improved over the years. That was not what I said at the time!). Anyway, I thought I would make a little 3D animation video of it! Nightmare! Usual story, left it far too late, took much longer to do than I thought, computer crashes, brain malfunctions etc etc! However, it is finished!Unfortunately, although it is…See More

I've got a Sinking Feeling!

This morning a man in a fluorescent jacket, carrying a tripod with a camera on it and a pole, spent three hours in the cul de sac where I live measuring the height of the pavements! I mean, from every possible angle! The thing is this is not the first time that he has done this! He was here last year and there are three or four tiny, little studs hammered into the pavement, so that he always takes the measurements from the same places, using these studs as markers! I can't believe that this is…See More

My tyres arrived today, so I don't have to spend the rest of the week waiting for the tyreman to cometh! However, I couldn't face the thought of trying to sort out EDF, not on a Monday, so I will do that after the Contrôle Technique…

Hi, I re-registered my Morris Minor. I was so lucky! I got my Attestation of Conformity from Rover (the inheritors of the Morris estate) a week before they went bust. On the other hand, one of the last actions the company carried out was to cash my…

Hi Catherine! I was thinking more in terms of an engine part … I am not sure what you are referring to as a crankshaft! I went over to Canterbury yesterday for a major service (for the car, not me … my local garages over here are not…

Dear Tony

Welcome to the network - we hope you find it useful!

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to upload a photograph of yourself so NOT your cat or your company logo (!), to your profile (use the setting button on the right hand side of your page) and once you've completed your profile information, you will be able to see your location on the 'Members Map'. This feature is a great way to find other people in your area so do make sure you add your location - that way other people will be able to find you too! And do add as much information to your profile as possible. Again, that way SFN members searching for people with similar interests, hobbies and occupations will be able to connect with each other.

Feel free to join any groups that look interesting or suggest your own. The groups can all be found in the social tab at the top of the page. If you're a blogger you can also add your blog posts to SFN - we love reading them!

You can list items for sale in the Bring Buy and Sell group and add any events to the Events page. And come and say 'Hi' in the chat window - we're all very friendly!

Best wishes
Catharine and James
