I only recently found out about this page and there are some real bargains to be had there, it is mostly returned items as far as I can see;
Amazon Warehouse deals offers open-box, customer returned and warehouse damaged merchandise, at deeply discounted prices, with all the benefits of Amazon.co.uk fulfillment and customer service.
Have a look and see if you can bag your self a bargain in the run up to (too early to mention ;))
We usually look at Amazon UK and then check it out on Amazon France. The latter can be post free and is not always more expensive. Well worth the effort to look after the centimes.
There are companies local to us in 16 and 17 who do regular runs to and from the UK mainly with food shopping but also for larger items. Blightyshop.com and www.borgelectricaleurope.com being two that spring to mind. I managed to get new wheels for my sack truck fairly cheaply through Amazon uk but no shipping to France. My daughter posted them at a cost of £26.00 which was twice the cost of the wheels and tyres etc. delivered free to her in the UK madness. EU Open Market, what a laugh.
It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that Pounds and Euros are roughly equal. But you have to take 20% off the Euro price to get the Sterling equivalent. So if you can get it here for €100, your UK target price would need to be less than £80 to make it worth considering - and all the hassle if you have to send it back for any reason.
I often have a look on amazon.fr and compare to the amazon.co.uk prices. I recently bought a “Bentley” electric golf trolley with battery and charger for my wife on amazon.fr which had free delivery for 235 euros which is an amazingly low price for an electric buggy. It worked really well and I’ve now bought a second one exactly the same for myself
My lesser half had a look at this and was impressed. He did say however, be a little careful when using it as it is easy to fall out of the warehouse and into ordinary shopping. Happy browsing to you all.
I always go to Amazon UK first because very often shipping to France is available, only when it is not do I use the French site as it is usually more expensive.
James, Do you know how they are with shipping items to France. This is one of my greatest frustrations, where you cannot buy much for a reasonable price on a .fr site. If you buy it on a .com or .co.uk site they either do not ship to France or the shipping costs are too great. Any thoughts or ideas?
