Last but not least, the final venue on the 2013 Tour de Finance is in Paris. Whether you live within striking distance or need an excuse for a mini-break, why not come along? The event is being held in the hotel Baltimore which is located right in the heart of Paris, close to the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.

For those of you able to attend, the day will start with a coffee and welcome session at 9.30. This will give those traveling in from further afield plenty of time to arrive. The morning will then be focused around a number of short seminars. The seminars will cover a variety of subjects, all of which have been chosen to be of interest to expats. The planned topics include healthcare and pensions, tax and financial advice, currency transfers, plus property rental and holiday lets.

The organisers are providing a free buffet lunch and over the lunch break you will be able to chat to the guest speakers and ask any specific questions on issues that might not have come up during the morning. It’s a great opportunity both to get free expert advice and to meet up with other English speakers from the region.

There’s even a chance to be entered into the £250 voucher prize draw thanks to The British Corner Shop. Mmm, bacon...

The event finishes around 2.30 and if you are from the Parisian region, I’m sure you’ll already have some idea of what to do with the rest of the afternoon! Maybe you’ll meet a friend for coffee, do some shopping or simply enjoy being in the centre of Paris in the spring? If you’re unfamiliar with the capital or if you are planning to spend a couple of days in Paris and need some suggestions on what to do or see, why don’t you post in the SFN Inhabitants of Paris group?

The group is made up of members who live or work in Paris and who’d be delighted to provide on the spot information, answer any questions you might have or offer some suggestions on where to stay and where to eat.

The Tour de Finance is open to everyone and entry is entirely free of charge. I really do recommend coming along. SFN readers can pre-book some of the (strictly limited) places by simply following the links below. If you can’t get to Paris, the Tour de Finance is happening throughout March and April. There are venues in various major cities around France and they are all listed below. Just choose the event that is nearest to you and click on the venue of your choice to book. It’s as simple as that. James and I hope to get to at least one of the events - so hopefully we will see you there!

Mark, I admire your healthy level of cynicism :)

Yes Louise

Is this useful if you are an expat married to a French person?

Hi, not to be a pain or anything: someone is paying for this, probably the people behind the people giving the advice, so what garantee of non-biais is there? Told you I wasn't being a pain ;)

Will you be going Theo?

Sorry, got it: Ile-de-France - 12 Apr 2013

What is the exact date?
