Stop Trump UK State Visit

She’s already had to meet and shake hands with IRA leaders which must have been utterly galling. So I’m sure that Trump’s visit and a quick handshake won’t perturb her too much after that.

Perhaps a sudden “touch of flu” could keep her safely tucked up and out of harm’s way :innocent:

Although the thought of the Queen having to endure Donald Trump is appalling, perhaps the thought of Donald Trump having to endure Prince Philip and Prince Charles is more appealing.
Also he will have to face a press conference where he cannot control the media and where the right of the freedom of the press is respected.

I don’t think anyone should support Trump in any way. He is a neo-fascist and should not be appeased (look how that turned out) at all. It is the responsibility of all world leaders to lead with integrity and to make it abundently clear that his words and policies are not acceptable to the rest of the world. I am disgusted to find that those loony lefties selling copies of socialist worker on every city corner throughout the 80,s and continually warning everyone about the fascist states were right all along. Fascism is alive and well and needs nipping firmly in the bud

Interesting point of view. I didn’t realise that the first politician to get into office and immediately start making good his campaign promises would brand him a fascist.:astonished:

In light of Brexit we will have to keep USA sweet and if it takes a state visit to do this then so be it.

The Queen spends lotsa time with her grandson Harry, he who was photographed naked with call girls in Las Vegas and Charles and Camilla of Tampax fame.
By the way - do you receive your knowledge of USA politics other than via media? Please share the sources that inform your opinions.

To which nations of the world are you referring, and what are your sources?
There are 192 members of UN (did you poll them all)?

Very aggressive posts Joan. Be interested (sort of!) to hear your view on Trump’s UK visit though…quoting your sources where appropriate. You could also express your own personal view should you wish to.

I personally hope that if this goes ahead, they wheel out Philip and he thinks to himself, 'Sod it, one will jolly well let rip and tell this awful little man exactly what one thinks of him" before doing precisely that.
In which case he really will be a national treasure.

Harry should get on with La Trump fine then as apparently she used to be an escort.
And I don’t recall seeing that Harry was hanging out with prossies. Be very surprised if he had to pay for it?

Oh, the poor Queen.
She’s never been embarrassed in her life.?
On the basis of your premis, then no royal family members should be invited to USA.
We had to put up with Diana and Charles. It was highly embarrassing but we survived.

If you want my view then I don’t need sources.
My view is private.
I just dislike bigotry and assumptions posted by retired Brits, who will not even be affected by any visit to U.K., having abandoned it for the glories of EU

And yet Joanie - you ask for the very same thing from others. Bit of a double standard eh?

Oh and another thing - Britain is part of the EU.

Nasty.

If going against the Constitution and everything that the USA stands for is not enough for you to worry about, then you really must have your head in the sand.
This man is not to be trusted, he does not think things through and, obviously, did not listen to his advisors and then the cost of all these “See you in court” rantings, which have to be borne by the US taxpayers.
Of course, they wanted to see a businessman in the white House and that is how he ran his businesses. More court cases than anyone else by a mile.
