I don't live in France, but I have several customers there, as well as elsewhere in the EU and James has actually evaluated one of my products when he had a leg injury. I run Peglegs UK, from which I sell the US-made iWalk 2.0 in the UK as their sole UK distributor. It is a hands-free crutch which you kneel on and so are free to use your arms, unlike conventional crutches. Typical delivery costs for mainland France are a supplement of £20 for next-day delivery and £5 for 2-5 day delivery, on top of the normal UK next-day shipping and handling cost.

We are Astrofarm in Confolens! A 10 bed (soon to be 14) adult residential astronomy centre. Recently featured on Channel 4 'Escape to the Sun'. We have an 8 bed dormitory that is great for groups of walkers, cyclists and bikers and the astronomy is an optional bonus. We provide a kitchen and sitting room and guests can stay on site all day. Have you thought about editing your own website. When I retired I spent a few years as a locum and my son set up a simple website for me with links to a few pages which I wrote and edited using Word and then uploaded them to the website using a free utility. The website cost me about £5 a year I think. It was all very easy to change and I had a calendar page to show when I was available. It could just as well done for a B&B or gite business.

I write The French Genealogy Blog, an English discussion and explanation of how to research French ancestors: http://french-genealogy.typepad.com

I have also self-published some books on the subject: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/morddel

Doing the genealogy gets me reading more and more about French history, so I am constantly learning more about France as well as improving my French. Gives me topics for conversation with my neighbours when I can talk about their country's past.

Also, I can highly recommend French archives and libraries. If you are suffering from people being aloof, go to an archive to research, say, the history of your house. The nicest, kindest and most helpful people in France are archivists.

We've been over here for 18 years. To start with I did a weekly commute to London to work (project/interim manager).

My wife (Lyn) looked after our son (Rob, then 4 years old and just starting French school) and supervised the renovation of the house. After a few years Lyn's father bought a house out here a couple of doors down. About the time he moved here full-time I packed up work in the UK to work on another property we had bought.

Lyn worked with an estate agency until the market crashed. She now works as a translator/sub-titler. http://lalinguafranca.org/

Rob, after persuing a moderately successful swimming career now picks up work where he can, helps Lyn with the translation/sub-titling work and does his bit to look after the properties, youth unemployment is horrendous here in rural France!

For the last 18 months I've been working on the campaign to make sure the UK Remains in the EU https://www.facebook.com/groups/britishexpats.remainintheeu/

Hi,

We run Chez Robins, a small gîte in Trie-Chateau, right on the frontier of the Oise (60) and the Eure (27). It's so full that we are looking to expand and have signed a promesse to buy the old Tannerie in Trie and convert it to another gîte, commercial premises and eventually "Troc de Trie à La Tannerie", a dépôt-vente with a cultural and arts centre attached, to give more life to our small community and support for its inhabitants.

We are sort of retired but like to keep brains active, I was quality/systems manger in Oil industry. He'd like some freelance journo or PR or news producing type work (he is registered entrepreneur) and Id like some short term management systems implementation or auditing. Probably both in English speaking countries as our French isnt flash yet (working on that). He also plans to write. Mean time we do up an old MdM (http://www.bellacmaison.com/). Seventeen years ago we bought a house in Brittany for just 12 Grand! Yeh, but through a very rickety buying procedure - I guess there's no surprises there)... After a year or so some bright spark suggested we start a business straightening out the hairpin bends of buying in Brittany and Normandy... Sixteen years, two websites and a thousand houses later... we are still at it - http://www.ahouseinbrittany.com - from Maison to Manoir, Petite to Palatial, Ruin to Renovation... From Ooh and Ahh to Ooh-la-lah! (I used to work in marketing... thank heaven that's over!)

Hi all!

I've just launched myself as a VA and Online Business Manager - I work mostly with Coaches, Trainers and Motivational Speakers as this is my background, but I work with any business owner or professional looking to either create an online presence or create (or grow) online revenue streams (websites, Social Media presence, sales funnels, email marketing, lead magnets, etc.)

Here is my website - http://thesmartva.eu

Facebook Page - https://www.facebook.com/TheSmartVirtualAssistant/

Looking forward to checking out other businesses.

Q for admin - will there be a map for the directory also?

(Can't remember if I've posted this before ...) If you're looking for a little country hotel in the Pyrenees, on the route from Bordeaux to Zaragoza/Madrid, try us! https://www.facebook.com/Ferme-de-Candeloup-7796426794/ We are in the middle of the Jurancon wine region - have you tried that yet?

Sure.
