I usually get them after a while, but I think I’m hampered by not knowing who George RR Martin is/was.
I’m not but still didn’t get it.
George R R Martin wrote Game of Thrones, where everyone keeps dying including the leads. In Star Trek red shirts are usually worn by security and they always end up being killed too.
The family scene is how it might have been if things had been different in Star Wars.
