Abandonned cats and kittens, at this time of year it is without end!

Cats of Quercy receive at least 30 contacts per day from people and vets seeking our help for kittens and abandoned cats, or people who let their cats have kittens and who now don’t know what to do!

We are contacted about kittens abandoned and found in gardens, kittens thrown thrown out at dustbins, kittens found in a car parks, injured kittens, but we are also contacted for adult cats that have clearly were abandoned by their owners who have moved away and left them to starve to death.

We are so overwhelmed at the moment and have numerous adorable cats and kittens looking for new homes- please help us to find good homes for them!

Please spread the word: when people take on a cat, it is not an object to be cast aside when it is no longer a novelty; it is a living being that requires attention, affection... and gives so much in return.

Please educate people who take a cat or a kitten: the first thing to do is to sterilise the animal to prevent more unwanted kittens. Sterilisation should be done at 4 months of age.

Hear hear Lynn - it's the same at Phoenix. We need to stop the problem at source, somehow!!
