Angine de Poitrine

I throw this one out to all you musicians and non-musicians.

Been said by many that it is unusual to hear something quite unusual. I hear funk, jazz, rock and something else with the Microtones produced in a custom guitar (very weird fret spacings) and a bit McLaughlin like in that sense.

The drummer weaponises drumming. Very tight…and touring in France soon…

I’ve seen a few videos. I’m not a fan, but I generally don’t like “clever” music.

It’s like the joke about audiophiles using music to listen to their hifi: A de P use music to show their musicianship.

I managed to listen up to 2.25 on the video before I couldn’t bear it any more. Incredibly clever, great use of loopers, but there’s no pleasure in the listening for me.

…try it passed that point ? and then digest and maybe throw up later…

I find them hypnotic, with shades of loads of stuff. I hear something different everytime I listen. I tried to get tickets for the Poitiers concert, was on the wait list, but lucked out. It would have been the first show I’ve been to in literally years, that’s how taken I am by them!

I see they are doing quite a few gigs in Europe this year but all sold out!

First time I saw them on YouTube I thought “WTF!!???” but they do grow on you, and the cleverness and musicianship is to be admired.

Costume design B minus though.

They are French Canadian I believe which explains a lot. Although so is Mylène Farmer.

A fair and pertinent question!

I’m assuming it’s a medical pun?

Edited: good guess. “L’angine de poitrine, ou angor, désigne une douleur thoracique qui apparaît généralement pendant un effort “

Food.

Poitrine d’agneau - miam !

I think this band have suddenly found fame, because I’m seeing references to them all over the place.
