Happy birthday Stella and daughter (that was clever of you both to arrange that  )

Well hoppy birdie 2 ewes both.

My wife got a nice mother’s day card and a gift from the mother of our grandson and we were able to drop something off this morning at her place. And the sun is shining, so we’ll go for a walk this afternoon.

Wonderful Birthday with messages from family all over the world.
Gloriously warm sunshine (shielded from the bitter wind) and I’ve just heard the lilt of the Golden Oriole.
Yes, I know it’s early, but it’s impossible to mistake…

Birdlife might be a bit disorganised this year… (strong winds can create havoc) and bearing in mind that our usual Hoopoes seem lost somewhere in transit  I’m not going to send this Golden Oriole away and ask it to come back later

All wildlife is welcome chez nous (even ticks so long as they keep themselves to themselves   )

Happy birthday. Spent time preparing for the tax returns by writing out on A4 the exact details, box references, what to check and what forms to fill in. Also checked with online traduction about anything else that might apply. I did notice though that details of UK bank accounts need not be given again as long as there is no income derived from them/not used so don’tneed to fill in that seperate form yet again.

All I have had so far is that all is well there so I assume that means the cats too. :grinning:

Haven’t been able to take hoopoes seriously since I learned their Latin name is Upupa epops.

Reckon it’s impossible not to smile or chuckle at the antics of these birds… the way each wing-feather seems double-jointed and their crests flick open and closed in the blink of an eye…

Hi All. I am new here. I am originally from the west of Ireland. I have been living in France since the end of 2018 near Saumur (49). I have worked and lived in the US and in the Channel Islands. I have a small business here that keeps me busy. I love France as much as Ireland. So, hello, salut and here’s to continuing to survive France/

And this evening the Scops Owls are back - and a beautiful crescent moon setting just after dusk.

Well the 110 kph gusting tramontine has finally decided to die down after four solid days of horrendous winds but it was really very warm. Got to go and appologise to my neighbour later as my recycling bin blew over and some papers blew into his back garden. There is still plenty of snow on the Canigou though, looks beautiful in the sunshine

Had washing out yesterday which miraculously didn’t detach from the line, but when I brought it in, dropping it into a basket, the whole thing upended and blew away :tornado::cyclone::wind_face: catapulting the clean dry clothes across the back garden. Had to chase it around the garden
It’s calmed down a lot here as well, but apparently it’ll restart tomorrow for several more days.
