Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! šŸ™‚) (Part 2)

Just had apple crumble with added lemon juice and zest. These apples are ā€˜old English’ eating style, so tart for an eater but sweet for a cooker and the lemon gives a bit of zing.

Its torrential rain down here since dawn, all the guƩs are shut over the rivers and planes are taking off in a different route too. DIL was running in the breast cancer charity run along the Canet course this morning but it was cancelled yesterday afternoon along with all other outside events planned today and tomorrow. However just looking on lightning.org there is a huge swarm of storms gathering to the north of Barcelona heading this way, hopefully they might head out to sea instead and disperse

I get some US web site - Lightning Protection Institute!

Weird cos I just looked at the current status on lightning.org and its fine, maybe its your location

This is what I get too:

Try lightningmaps, it works for me.

Red faced everyone, it is as Debby says lightning maps.org. I do apologise wholeheartedly for my stupid error.

We spent the day on a bread-making course. My wife arranged this as an anniversary ā€˜day out’ together, and I think she’s secretly hoping it will improve my bread quality.

Oh, and yesterday was out 45 anniversary.

AM - firstly, congratulations to you and your wife on your 45th anniversary. And I hope you enjoyed your bread-making course. :pink_heart:

Congratulations AM, and a celebratory loaf too.

The swag.

Lunch was pizza prepared in-house by the master baker (the joke was made by someone else, spoken carefully!) before our eyes.

There’s not one item there that I would not enjoy eating. Well done to both of you! :pink_heart:

M&S online has ā€˜up to 50% discount’ promo on women’s clothing at the moment, so I treated myself to a dress, top and chemise last night. Have a look at their (French) website ladies. There’s no tax or duties to pay and if you spend more than 50 euros, it’s free delivery.
But don’t hang around. Things become unavailable quite quickly. :pink_heart:

I didn’t hang around. 2 items straighf into my basket. Knew I didn’t want Sparks, but accepted a 10% discount code and rapidly checked out

Nowhere was offered to input the 10%: code against the basket and I had to manually enter my address. So figured they wouldn’t show the box to enter the 10% code to someone checking out as a guest i.e. unknown.

So rapidly gave it my email and a password and clicked to create an account and then continue checkout when it would hopefully give me a box to enter the code they’d given me.

I avoided ticking the box for email signup and made very sure not to click anything to sign up to Sparks. Why blow a 15% discount on a small amount when I’ve got a 10% code.

You guessed it the site told me I’d signed up for Sparks when I had deliberately avoided this. It informed me I have to use the totally unwanted (and wasted) 15%discount in 21 days.

Checkout still didn’t give me any box to enter the 10% code I was quite happy with (and that kept me above the free ship minimum)

Oh, and then the main item I’d wanted disappeared from my basket as gone out of stock whilst dealing with this $hit.

I was prepared to pay 3x the price of the Lidl equivalent of the same item as I’d had Lidl’s and sent it back because it was skimpy. But most items on the M&S site were 3x the price of Lidl and only slightly nicer.

A pity as M&S almost had me back as a customer.

I’ve written to them telling them to delete all my data immediately under my data protection rights.

So disappointing but thank you for the recommendation.
