Oh hell yes, this looks wonderful! TY!
For dog treats, recall etc. in forest and field, I have got into the habit of buying a packet of a dozen thin pork sausages. Grill them each side in the AF and then chop each into 4 for the walks.
Did some this morning and left them out on the counter top to cool before putting in the fridge. Shortly afterwards, feeling a tad peckish I took a bite of one. Bloody Hell !! They are sooo tasty 4 more bites during the afternoon and there is one pork sausage less for the treats bag.
I might have to buy 2 packs next time.
Went to Action earlier and got myself another three jigsaws of 1000 pieces each for only ā¬2,99. They can cost over ā¬12 min in a lot of shops. They also had raisins in chocolate in bags, my favourite from childhood days.
A heart warming rescue story
Dear pony and wonderful dog! And some good humans.
David, you are very trusting of Galys and Jules by putting your cooked sausages on the counter top. We did that once with some sausage rolls we had cooked. They were on the counter top ready to be bagged up and frozen. But Ruby our rescue x-Griffon decided she liked them and ate half of what we had hoped to freeze. We couldnāt scold her - how could you tell off someone who looks at you like this?
My siamese rang off with a huge slice of roast beef left on worktop ready to plate up. We couldnāt catch him either and then he puked the lot back up outside front door.
Home made dog treats.
Beef liver simmered until tender, it does smell awful.
Cut into very small pieces and then bake in a medium oven.
Dogs absolutely love them and they are not expensive.
Store in a tupperware type box.
Our UK butcher said price has gone up as they are exported to france as they will pay more.
I was interested to read recently about a new restaurant opening in Perigueux⦠However, the Patron clearly states that all the meat on his menu comes from outside Franceā¦
so, we wonāt be going there after all⦠canāt see the point
We have butchers within a short drive ⦠and they sell locally/happily reared beef, pork and lamb. hurrah.
Why? That seems a recipe for financial disaster. Regardless of my views on the inferiority of most French lamb, I canāt see his attitude being popular with the locals.
I think the point is as declared by HM government that all meat to include Pork,Beef, lamb, mutton, goat, venison+pet food and butter, cheese, milk are banned until further notice to stop the spread of foot and mouth diesese which is rife in some areas of France.
Is it? No notifications of France having trouble at the moment, the outbreaks were in Hungary and Slovakia thats caused France and the UK to step up their restrictions.
and the Cheerful News is that France is Not rife with F&Mouth ā¦
France is trying to protect itself⦠similarly to UK.

Yes you are right , the initial two line headline I read was the usual media worst case scenario attention grabbing scenario, update coming in ā¦there is a plague of frogs possibly introduced to feed the rats
the initial two line headline I read was the usual media worst case scenario attention grabbing scenario,
that sort of thing drives me mad⦠and Iāve finally learnt not to open such headlines
but itās taken me a while
āPicking up fag endsā comes to mind
I watch the national news religiously every evening and sometimes at 13h and there has been absolutely nothing reported at all about foot and mouth disease either here in France or elsewhere in Europe. Headlines made up half the time to get attention.

The Daily Fail is the worst offender for this (along with the Daily Excess) - they specialise in writing inflammatory and clickbaity headlines, which are then largely contradicted within the text of the news item itself.
