Any nappers?

I’ve been taking a nap for decades. Used to nap in the car at lunchtime when I was working.
My wife however just struggles to get to sleep.

How can one NOT have a nap

That what I ask my self about Ewa. She really struggles, and if she does nod off she will sleep for ages which is a no no for me. 20 mins max.

Yep, daily.

The cat insists.

About an hour, then I wake up reasonably naturally.

Helps the afternoon work.

40 on a Sunday though…

Yes.

Onwards and napwards.

I never did before recent surgery, now it’s almost daily. I even stopped the car for a quick 40, one day last week.

I LOVE a nanny nap! Generally set an alarm not to go over about 35 minutes but the reality would be around 20 minutes of actual sleep, sometimes even only 5.

I do, but not every day. Dr. Mosely advised 30 minutes no more, no less.

I keep taking my brain out to check, but it doesn’t look any younger to me. :slightly_frowning_face:

Never! Unless I’m really poorly… Just can’t do it.

Me neither, I’ve tried it a few times but it’s never happened.

I do sometimes when I feel really tired after lunch but there can be a downside - it takes the edge off my tiredness at the end of the day and I’m still bouncing around at 2am. (Bit like some toddlers!)

Jim nods off any time he can.
In his chair after lunch.

My grandfather used to have a nap for about 20min every day immediately after lunch. Poor bloke was losing his marbles by his mid-late 70s

It may be a trend from data, but it’s not a treatment.

When I was a teenager we lived on the site of where my father worked. He used to come home for lunch, eat and have 20 minutes in the chair. Now, the siesta is the highlight of the day. I’m always wretchedly miserable if we have guests and I have to miss it. It would be rare to have much more than 20 minutes. I’m given to understand that long sleeps aren’t particularly good for you.

I have to have a nap after the grandchildren have been round. Playing is so tiring plus a bit of a nap in the afternoon helps when its too hot to sleep at night hence the siesta!

Me neither. If I do manage to sleep I can’t wake up properly and feel bad.

Glad I’m not the only one. I feel really poorly if I do sleep and it lasts for a long time…

I often have a coffee before I take a nap. In 20 mins or so the caffeine has kicked in and I wake up refreshed and ready to boogie.

I love my afternoon naps. Usually wake up and feeling refreshed and energized. Some people just do not understand why I take an afternoon nap. I think it is essential for me.
I think one should have a nap daily, better for one’s health, mental and physical.
