I use Twitter (X) and have done for a long time but one thing I cannot fathom out is how to get alerted to any new post made by someone I follow.
I have spent (too) much time trying to figure this out - I’ve read the tutorials, followed the instructions, even asked AI but all to no avail.
To be clear, I am using Twitter on a PC, not a phone and I ‘follow’ some people and asked to be ‘notified’ but never get any notification. Is there anyone out there who is actually successfully doing this on a pc ?
A lot has changed since Twitter became X.
Try following some right wing nutjobs. You’ll probably get notified within milliseconds of each of their posts.

Sorry for the facetious reply but I closed my Twitter account last year as I felt that the whole mood of the platform was changing to a darker, propaganda-led style.
Same here - Bluesky exists and less extreme but also a little bland!!

I’ve kept mine as I was an early adopter of Twitter and have the equivalent of a personal number plate on there (@chrismann) and I don’t want anyone else using it! 
Also occasionally it works to my benefit - there’s another photographer called Chris Mann in London who specialises in showbiz headshots - he did photos for Susanna Reid (ITV breakfast show host ) and she got our Twitter handles mixed up and thanked me profusely!
But I haven’t posted anything on there since 2022.
