Hello there,
I'm looking for someone who can advise me on the best way to declare our family income over here in France. Its a little complicated (for me that is) as our income comes from a variety of different sources> Some here some in the UK and also some from the USA.
So if you have someone you can truly recommend I would much appreciate it. I live in the Tarn region close to Castres so someone nearby by would be ideal
Thanks
Gary
Thank you Maureen. Its very appreciated.

Hi
Yes we are in the same Brassac, strange we have not met.
750 is excessive unless your accounts are very complex!
I will email you with her details.

Hello Maureen,
I followed up on a couple of leads > One guy quoted €750-00 which i think is excessive. and another, who is based in the U.K. was a lot more reasonable and is asking around €150-00. But nothing is fixed as yet.
So if you have someone you are happy with please pass on his details so i can see if he can do the job for me. I would appreciate it>
Is that Brassac 81260 by any chance?? Can't believe we haven't bumped into you
Thanks
Gary

Did you find anyone? If not let me know as we have a good one.
I just noticed that you are in Brassac, I thought we were the only SFN members up in the wilds of Brassac!

I know of a good accountant in St Palais dept 64. Not expensive either, about € 160 which is a lot cheaper than others I have heard of. Not sure where you live. If you want to do it yourself then there are advice days at the hotel des impots. I always find that everyone has a different idea of where certain items are meant to go though! The first time you declare you have to give copies of lots of documents. Gets easier the following year. Make lists of all income types and accounts held everywhere as yours sounds complicated. It is easy to forget things.
My husbands income is very complicated since he is basically a paid volunteer on a contract basis working for institutions such as the EU or World Bank or as at the moment, AusAid coupled with the fact that he works all over the world in countries that do not have reciprocal agreements with France. Plus we declare extra income earned through the AE. And our accountants (International and have branches all over France) Exco Fiduciaire are absolutely wonderful. They look up every bit of paper that might be relevant and charge very little. But that could be just pure luck from our local branch of course!
Best place to go is the Hotel des Impots, they will tell you which boxes to put it in and it wont cost you a penny. Write it all out on a single sheet of paper with proof of income papers out of sight, that way if they ask for proof you have it but if they don't, it wont complicate matters.
It should be relatively straightforward, as the UK and US stuff would come under income from abroad. Sure someone will know of a good accountant but if not your Bank Manager/Conseiller might be happy to help?
