Our friends favourite island. Despair at these idiots, what religion can do to some people. We had a young lad mouthing off on the bus the other night about being chosen by god for this mission so he was a nut job Christian.
Thereâs a whole load of these characters terrorising the south east (England) at the moment. Young guys, all with instagram / tiktok accounts, who turn up where theyâre not wanted and make a nuisance of themselves with megaphones being deliberately provocative in an attempt to get content for social media. One guy Ollie eventually got booted out of Brighton and went up to Guildford (sorry @ChrisMann ) where they dealt with him much quicker than B&HCC and Sussex Police who tend to try mirror the âeveryoneâs welcomeâ vibe of the city when it comes to enforcement. Another one popped up in Brighton shortly after and he was even worse, creeping out women by asking them for contact details and such and I think they were much hotter on dealing with him. But If you look online thereâs something of a cottage industry of creepy young men being provocative under the guise of street preaching for social media views. Im not suggesting your guy was one of those, but this type of thing certainly seems to radicalising some young Christians sadly as they watch these guys and become influenced.
It sounds like a guy called Jacques G (a local on the island) who liked alcohol and drugs carried it out, and probably shouted out what he did just for the heck of it⌠Not sure it was a religious zealot, just a crazed local. Terrible what happened. Guess there will be more details soon.

In the wider context, you would not expect anyone serious about their Christian faith to be doing drugs and alcohol, nor going out of their way to unnerve and upset women in the street - it should be the opposite. Thereâs something odd going on here.
None of the Abrahamic religions are keen on that sort of thing really. Generally if youâre a Christian homicidal nutter people register youâre a homicidal nutter, and if youâre a Muslim homicidal nutter they register youâre a Muslim. And if youâre in the IDF or are their paymaster nobody says anything however much homicidal nuttery is going on.
News on TF1 said he was known to the authorities for previous drugs,alcohol and abuse. Must have been as high as a kite.

You take a thread about some nutter - perhaps a Muslim, probably not - and use it to attack unidentified Christians, apparently because theyâre Christians.
In any other context, you would quite rightly call that bigotry.
It will be almost impossible to see the nutters coming but I take confidence in French police being vigilant and armed. I hope there will not be anything destroying lives at outdoor markets this Christmas as in previous years.

They blanked his face on the news last night but you could see easily what he really looked like, an ordinary white,blonde haired young man. He lived alone in a mobile home so maybe loneliness sent him on the path to destruction via the internet,drugs and alcohol.
