Unfortunately all our feedback on 64 is slow. Have you had your 1st rdv or are you still waiting be invited for that or are you waiting for your card to be produced.
If you’ve had your 1st rdv were you given a récépissé, if yes when does it expire?
Sadly what is advised elsewhere there doesn’t seem to be a system where you get priortised first depending on when your card expires.
Sadly 11 have been awful which considering there are quite a few Art50s there, the promised assurance that more support would be brought in was in fact bollox, this hasn’t happened anywhere.
We have had a few recently being processed in 11 but not that many. Have you contacted them?
I have my first RDV on Friday so I’ll ask them how long it may take to get my card and stress the importance of being able to leave France at any point because of my brother’s terminal illness.
Excellent idea. If they understand this ghastly situation hanging over you, I’m sure they can do something to ensure you either get your card or a suitable “cover note”
Applied in Jan, had 1st rdv start of April (CdS expired mid April), and récépissé expires 15 Oct.
The staff who processed my application during the April rdv assured me the card would be made quickly, which is why I am trying to chase it up now. Called the prefectures foreigner service hotline repeatedly and can only reach an answer machine telling me to call again another time. They don’t reply to emails. They say you cannot visit in person without a convocation + rdv.
I need to leave France for a while in the near future, and had counted on having the 10 yr card before I left…otherwise it seems like a lost cause.
Thanks Kim. That’s disappointing to hear as I will be out of France then with no local address here to receive the convocation letter. At least the process was free!
Am astounded at how different everyone’s experiences have been. Such bad luck being registered in 64 on this occasion.
Back in 2021, I got my 5 year CdS one month after the rdv in Haute-Garonne. Bizarre that a renewal can take more than twice as long as the original, especially as the documentation required is so light.
You really have no friends that you could have your mail redirected to, that’s a shame as they don’t have to live in your area.
The sad thing is that there were others shouting about how extra staff would be brought in to make this a seamless renewal, we knew from the outset this was bollox, and yes some prefectures are slower than others.
No consolation, but just be grateful you’re not in 37, 74 or 93, 93 especially has been outrageous in some of their dealings with people.
We understand so many prefectures are over worked and understaffed, but outright rudeness is never acceptable.
Had my rdv this morning in Carcassonne. All went well although they were running so late we thought we wouldn’t get done in time. They seem to allow 10 minutes for each rdv but the one guy handling TDS applications was taking over 20 minutes per person. At 11h40 they put a second person on and she did me in 8 minutes. When we finished there were still about 4 people waiting so I guess some didn’t get processed before 12h.
Anyway, it was very simple in the end and I got my récépissé that allows me to travel with my expired TDS until December and I just need to wait for a text to pick up my card. So, many thanks to @kim for helping and being patient with us. Next, it’s my driving license which I applied for in March.
