Sorry, I know this is not France but I was wondering what everyone else thought about this. I guess my first thought was he probably deserved it.
Are the men who did this heroes or murderous villains?
If he had murdered my baby… I might well murder him… even though I would consider myself damned… and turn myself-in for whatever would follow…
But 33 years later… I do not think I would … but that is my personal opinion… others may differ…

In theory he has paid his debt to society, in practice it would seem that the locals had other ideas.
Surely foolish to move back though.
