Does anyone know the going rate (per hour) for babysitting? There is a big wedding going on in our area and I am fully booked for the weekend (hooray) but one of the families requires baby sitting for 3 children (5 and under). I know there is a register at the mairie but thought I would offer the job to friends first.
We had this discussion a while ago (I was asking the same question as we rely on family usually - not that we ever seem to go out, it's more for work reasons!) I think it settled around the 7 to 8 euros an hour. last time we paid a mate's daughter 30 € for an evening of about 4 hours babysitting for two under 5s. Some seem to go for the smic whilst others get away with a lot less, depends on the babysitter, their age and expectations too ;-)
