Not heard of this happening before… He sounds like a good guy…

Principled perhaps? :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

Deserves the benefit of the of the doubt, I reckon.

These days, cynicism is my default position, but - as the ‘Good Book’ has it: “I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance”.

You don’t have to be religious to understand that.

No, he seems to be one of the good/better, Guys:+1:

If that was just his pay rise, what’s his salary?

Two point six million pounds since acquisition by Nikkei (previously a measly one point six million) so I wouldn’t waste much sympathy on him. Given the ‘adverse criticism’ he received from the NUJ and others I doubt his motives were necessarily altruistic but maybe I’m just cynical. Aren’t we all at a certain age?

Looks like he’s a common-or-garden sinner of the ten-a-penny kind, like me. Enough repentance to ring the bell in heaven, where even a smidgeon tips the balance. Rejoicing on cue :bell::bell:

I certainly would not give back a bonus.

Some high-fliers amongst this lot…

In my opinion, many/most folk live up to their Income… not matter what that may be…
