Hi all, for those who live close or know anyone in the area around quillan. Really in need of a decent builder who can kind of "do it all " flooring, tiling, new kitchen etc. I know most are busy but its not urgent in this moment as work has already started but would be good to have some contacts or some advice on where to search them. Generally in France trades are separated. You can find jobbing builders who use CESU but they are only allowed to do very small jobs. So, for example, it will depend on how much tiling you need done.
So you need to look for a tiler, a floorer (unless all tiles 
), and a general installer/woodworker etc).
Please also check they are registered (have a siret number) and insurance for your own peace of mind.

What is ānot urgentā? I might be able to help out depending on your definition. We are about to take on a long term contract, but there could be windows open here and there.

Note that Limoux folk are quite peculiar in August! It is the vent dāauton - blows in the sprin into our heads, and manifests itself in August 
Not only Limoux folk, pretty much all of France I reckon.
Our extension back in 2000 started in April and was due to finish end of June. But not quite, and at that point they all buggered off on holiday. It was finished in September. 
I remember going to view a property in Dordogne which included a nice tower on one corner. However, when we went inside it was - literally - just a breeze-block, open structure, with nothing inside. I obviously asked the owner, a rather attractive French lady, why it was not a finished building. She said, unsmiling, āWell, the macon got this far before the holidays, and said he would be back in the autumn. . . . . unfortunately, I didnāt ask him āWhich year?ā - and now I need to moveā. Cāest la vie.
