I recently bought a french registered car in the uk and it has been impossible to register it here.
Nonsence you all shout (I can almost hear you) - but it is true.
The previous owner sold the car to a car seller in London from whom I bought the car.
I have the carte grise - it is in the French sellers name still. BUT the French seller had (? foolishly) completed a certificat de cessation showing the car to have been sold to this London car seller and has sent this document to the Prefecture.
So the computer sees that the car has been sold to this other person and not to me so I cannot get it registered. The only person who could register it is the London seller - but he can't because he is not a French resident.
I now have a car (in fact two cars - see my other post !) I cannot use.
Please can anyone help with a suggestion.
