We are going to be permanent residents in France in November. We want to register our Fiat Doblo in France and need a certificate of conformity. Looking on the internet there are sites which charge upwards of €180 and I am not sure if they are bona fide sites that issue the correct document. Please advise me on how to obtain a authentic document. Thank you.
My local UK dealer ordered one on my behalf and it came from the manufacturer free of charge.
If you use the Fiat France route when you move to France then you will get it with all the nit picking details covered. I have sent you a friend request if you reply and give me an email address I will happily e-mail you a copy of the attestaion we received so you can see what you are after. Theoretically the V5 registration document should be enough for recent models but DVLA are not very good at the way they input data and make mistakes so people still find they have to get the attestation before they can get their vehicle either registered or Contrôle Techniqued before reregistration.
I went to our Fiat dealership yesterday where we bought our car and they had not heard of the Certificate of Conformity!!
I'm sure that you're right Debra but I would wait until in France and then things like addresses will match up on the attestation de homologation when Fiat issue it.
Thank you. Will try it now!
You get it from the homologation department of Fiat France. This is the link.

This is the genuine Fiat site and the instructions are quite simple. They may ask you for a photo of the Vehicle identification plate which in our case is in the engine compartment. They do charge but I think it was something over 100euros.in our case a very fast and efficient service.
