Cesu Cheques/ vouchers - Accepting as payment

Hello.I understand this has been discussed but I am a little confused. My customers wanted to pay me by ise of vouchers/ cheques. So , I went through the process of setting up a micro business- obtained my siret / nan etc
Ive just scanned all the cheques sitting on my table . The amount came to 235 euros… money paid into the bank was 70 euros less… Now, I only charge 15 euros an hr… I dont really understand with clarity where all this 70 euros has gone… can anybody tell me in simple terms as at this moment in time - feels like Im not charging enough. Any guidance shall be gratefully received.

You need to see what is written on your bank statement when it comes online with the payments made into the account etc and if it still does add up, go and see the bank or phone and ask them where the money has gone. I know when I was paid by cheque on the CESU scheme I got all the money the cheque was made out for but on my bulletin de salaire, my boss was paying nearly double what she paid me in charges etc.

There are several different CESU options. Essentially the minimum that you can charge is €9.35/hour gross or €11.65/hour net which is minimum wage level. So depends which option you have signed up to for paying your social charges and tax. So that percentage different could easily be one of those.

If you look on your CESU tableau de bord or your bulletin de paye (both should be accessible from your online account) this should become clear.

@patricia375744 Have you managed to find out what has happened ??

There is a fee for opening the cesu account €70 and then a monthly fee ( 3 types) I initiated a monthly fee of €9 as you get various support mechanisms

Ah… at least there is an explanation and it wasn’t an accounting hiccup. :+1:

Hello, today I received in the post 3 lots of crcesu Factures. I enclose 1 as an example.
On the example you can see box a this refers to payments made online.
Box b are the charges.
UP refers to vouchers
EDENRED refers to cheques.
You will see I have put in 135 I received just 53.99
There is a second page outlining another 64 euros of charges …

So , please, someone please tell me - I want just €15 per hour… is it worth allowing CESU

Are you sure you want the reference numbers and your address visible online - would you like me to edit the image for you?

Yes thankyou please edit x

OK I think that should be everything except the amounts. Personal info removed & version locked so the previous image is not visible except to site admins/moderators.

No worries, easy done (and fixed).

Whichever way you organise your business, be it via CESU or directly, you have to pay taxes, and cotisations. So if you want to take home €15/hour then you must charge more than that. My estimate would be at least €20.

CESU does not rip people off, so the only question would be whether you have registered correctly. I suggest you take all you papers to France Services and ask someone to explain it to you.

This is a guide, but not that easy to follow
