Chandeleur ..will you be tossing pancakes?

Well, tomorrow (2nd Feb) is Chandeleur…

According to our neighbours…you should toss a pancake in its pan, whilst clutching a piece of gold in the other hand… depending on where the pancake lands… you can judge your good fortune for the year ahead… so go to it everybody… let’s get those pancakes up in the air…:grin:

And today’s saying is: On the eve of Candlemas, winter will stop or take hold.
so there’s a fifty-fifty chance the “saying” will be correct :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well I can honestly say Stella that there will be no tossing here ! :wink:

Reminds me of my mum’s efforts, (whose lack of culinary skills I have inherited) a lot of hit and miss, mainly the miss with the inevitable pancake on the floor or ceiling.

Haven’t told her it’s the tradition here tomorrow, let sleeping mum’s and pancakes alone :hushed:
