By default we SFN ers have to be computer savvy , but in reality few of us are experts thus a sizable proportion are probably outright amateurs.
I count myself in the last group.
So when my Mac went weird after a Bbox failure I was staring at a semi functional machine and my iphoto library had gone AWOL.
A quick bleat on SFN's Computer Corner resulted in Krister Rosendahl from Pleaux answering most of my questions – when I knew what questions to ask.
The main problem was a machine hopelessly out of date and in need of multiple upgrades. Krister must have sensed my lack of comprehension since he offered to cross the 300 or so road kilometers to Bourges, fix/ upgrade the machine, stay overnight, carry on fixing and then drive the 300 kilometers back to Pleaux – for a small fee and traveling expenses.
Thus Survive France Network lived up to it's name,we had an interesting guest and now a ' new' machine, Krister a bit of pocket money ( I believe wisely invested in some of our excellent local wine).Everyone is happy.
So if your machine needs some therapy and your computer savvy is as lacking as mine, drop Krister a line. He might come to your rescue! (Good local wine an added incentive.)
