Hi Y'all,


As my first post I thought I might as well pick your collective brains about the Ville of Confolens.....being as it is that I am now back to singularity, footloose and fancy free I am pretty set on relocating myself back to the fabulous surrounds of La belle France.....I have lived in Dinan before but now prefer to go somewhere where the Summers are longer.....I know nothing about Confolens apart from the fact that it has a gorgeous river running through it and I fancy living alongside it (being of a maritime bent some eons ago).


Anyone give me a heads-up (as they say States-wise) on this particular town please?

It’s been as dead as a dodo for many years, but the new council voted in in May sound as though they are making things move. It won’t be as dynamic as I remember it 20 odd years ago. That won’t happen instantly, but it has to turn the corner soon.

Good, in as much that I will be able to hold an intelligent (debatable) conversation...bad, in as much that my pathetique Francais will probably not improve dramatically.

Loads and I mean loads of Brits. Only comes to life once a year during the festival folklorique.Excellent charcuterie.
