Covid and flu vaccination starts Oct 15th

   Oh my wordā€¦ here we go againā€¦

On our doctorā€™s ordersā€¦ flu jab will be done asap (ie 16th October)ā€¦ as he reckons it takes a fortnight to ā€œsettleā€ and OH needs the proven protection/assistance it offers him over the winter months.

OHā€™s health needs all the help it can getā€¦ me, I just take whatā€™s on offerā€¦
and since having the flu jabs, weā€™ve both had healthier wintersā€¦

Re Covidā€¦ again, we will follow our Docā€™s ordersā€¦

Each person will have their own ideas and follow their own pathā€¦
thatā€™s fair enoughā€¦

over and outā€¦ byee

Now you are putting words into my mouth! I never said any of what you posted, you should retract that. They tried very hard to make a vaccine in double quick time and I think we were all grateful for their work, certainly initially we had no idea what was going to occur. Later plenty documented issues and data showing it was having little effect except in those who are immune compromised and needed help wherever it could be found.

Then we have pressure put on families to jab their children even at very young ages despite them not being at risk personally and as the jab did not prevent transmission it did nothing to protect other family members.

On close examination after the initial panic and when it was clear the virus was no where near as bad as early strains but just more transmissable the need for the jab diminshed considerably in the light of more health issues arrising. The pharma companies have had plenty of time now to come ip with something that actually works as a vaccine should but they have most of the world signed up to continual boosters so happy days for them. As time goes by more doctors are begining to speak out having been gagged before.

My DIL is currently overdosing on hair lacquer as the dreaded poux has emerged at her primaire again and the adults with long hair are advised to do this daily so the little buggers canā€™t cling on.

I have always throughought my life taken anything that was offered to me and have been, asthma and catarrh apart, extremely healthy as a result (or in spite of) throughout nearly 82 years.

Fran and I were offered flu jabs back in April but the nurse I contacted then forgot to get back to me with a rdv and by then Fran had died and it was too late for me.

So I will now be collecting my own 2 jabs in a couple of weeks and pursuing, if necessary, the nurse immediately. I am wondering if I can put off a blood test 'till then as, when I went to the lab a couple of weeks ago, they were on strike.
3 in 1 ?

As did we both, seemed fine mostly although the flu jab always has left me a bit iffy for the second day after

Unfortunately, I have the flu at the moment :sneezing_face:, although itā€™s a bit different to usual so it may be Covid :mask::mask:. Brought it back from my holiday in Croatia I think. Normally with the flu I get very congested lungs and need antibiotics, but nothing this time, which sort of fits with Covid symptoms of newer strains around now. Hey ho.

Are you going to get a test?
BTW antibiotics do not work on virusā€™s like the flu, so not sure what you are being treated for unless you have a bacterial infection at the same time?

Yes have a test. You wouldnā€™t t want to give it to anyone.

WHO has been very wide of the mark on a number of Covid issues. Slow to act, slow to recognise it is airborne - multiple other issues with how it has handled things.

Agreed. They were appalling, when common sense meant some stuff was blindingly obvious.

Had both mine at same time last year - no issues and doing same next week.

I know, itā€™s the resulting chest infection that I seem to always get when I have the flu that need the antibiotics.

Take care with that, sounds a bit nasty. Hopefully one day a poop test will become a normal thing so they could analyse gut bacteria and feed the gut rather than harming it. Watching Zoe health and Guy Daniels on YT who explains with health conditions certain bad bacteria are in abundance whilst the good ones are in the minority. Early days of course but sounds promissing.

Oh dearie meā€¦ our small gathering at the Bakerā€™s is getting smallerā€¦
Today, seems that 2 of our number have got covid and are keeping away (thanks) and my immediate neighbour has got it (heā€™s hiding indoors) ā€¦ he brought it back from his hols (and he can keep it!)

Even so, folk are muttering that they wonā€™t get jabbed this time aroundā€¦ whatā€™s the point they askā€¦ me, I just advise them to discuss with their Docā€¦ and quietly move awayā€¦

Weā€™ve decided to return to the wave from a distance, rather than the strong hugs and kissing which are the norm.

I got it last November and it was worse than the first time around. Iā€™ll get the jab.

We ā€œhaveā€ to go to the uk at the end of October, will be getting both jabs before we go/as soon as possible.

I had a test and it was positive. The OH now has the same symptoms so she has it to. Weā€™ve been isolating as much as possible since my symptoms started - OH went to the pharmacy and to do some shopping so that we donā€™t need to go out again for a while.

and if you do go outā€¦ wear a mask to avoid breathing covid all over people (slight exaggeration but you get my driftā€¦ )
