CPAM and Residency

Hi all, cap’n,

I’ve received letters asking for a photo and ID for the CV’s. The letters say you can upload these by logging into the Ameli account, which of course I’ve never done. I presume I use the SS numbers quoted in the letter - but what about a password - is it set when you first go to the site?

Hope someone can give me a heads up before I start? - I couldn’t find anything about the photo / first login to new Ameli accounts.

Another duck arrived as well - (well I had to go to the post office to sign for it) - the CdS ! For those interested in such matters the RDV was 8 June and it arrived 26 June. Dept. 66. No sign of Madame’s though

That’s about the measure of it. It’s done when you create the account. Use a strong psw as this gives access to your health records.

How did you “make a fuss” that they even noticed had happened?

Asked to speak to the person’s manager. And then stood firm, and asked again. And waited, and asked again. All very politely, and with explanation about how it is impossible to get another original birth certificate in the UK unlike wonderful French system - flattery can work wonders. And eventually I got reassurances from a senior person that a search would be instigated. And 10 days later I got them back.

You have to always phone the helpline. In my experience CPAMS never send SS numbers etc by mail. If you phone the helpline they have all the info and will have your SS numbers when they have been allocated by your CPAM. I found my SS number had been allocated 3 months before I called the Helpline but had not been sent out. The message you get in French before being cut off basically says we’re closed call later. But it really means they are busy, try later. I found Mon and Tues i always get this message but by Wednesday you get through far more easily.

To resurrect an old thread.
The link above no longer exists but does anyone know if it’s still possible to apply for health cover on production of a recipesse (sp?) for a WA carte de sejour?

I do not think it would be enough on its own I think that they would want to see evidence of at least 3 months residency.

That’s not a problem and I was working on the assumption that all other requirements were met.

I’d try it! If you state that you have been in France for umpteen years on a different titre de séjour, then the fact that you only have un récépissé for your new one may be accepted.

That’s generally how I tick, if you don’t try then you don’t get

I probably should point out that I’ll already in the system but my S1 will end when I retire, so it’s for a change of status rather than a brand new entry. To be honest, I’m not sure if that will make it easier or more difficult.

It should make it easier :crossed_fingers:t3:

Along similar lines we have both had carte Vitale since arriving in 2008.
I am not eligible for an S1 because I have worked here but my wife is. When she reached retirement age and obtained her S1 we simply visited CPAM and they changed the code and that was that.

This is the other way around as my S1 finishes and I need to regularise my position in France as well as maintain health care.

Any news John from your Prefecture on how to apply for a WARP?

Not a peep, I see an appointment in person in my future. Anyway, both the embassy and Remain in France Together reckons there shouldn’t be a problem so fingers crossed.

OK. Best of luck. My husband finally received his Irish passport a few weeks ago but I have a few British colleagues who are approaching retirement and counting on getting the WARP so I’ll be interested to hear how you get on.

Until you qualify for a new S1 by becoming old enough and eligible for UK state pension?

Yes, a few years to go though.
