Dental Charges

A friend on holiday in France has had to visit a dentist and the final bill which included a crown was over Euros 500. She has a current EHIC. Is there anyway she can reclaim any of this?

But as you get little or nothing from the French system then the refund may be very small. However consider how much such dental treatment would have cost in UK . Bog standard crown in UK which you would have paid for or more expensive non NHS crown which you would have paid more ,versus probably slightly better crown here in France for not much more.

I'm pretty sure she has to pay up front and then claim back from the nhs (making sure she keeps all the relevant bills)
