Bill I have a RIB YAM 380 in good shape for 600 euros we are in Charente Maritime see picture.
It folds and fits in a car.
What a pity! I've just sold one that I built myself. ![](upload://s97c6VPk5VEOTByZUmX2tMKMGbH.JPG)
If you have the time perhaps you would enjoy building one. You don't need a lot of woodworking skill and only very basic tools. The main structural material can be ordinary outdoor grade ply - unless you're going to leave it in the water all the time - and the benches and other parts can mostly be made from reclaimed wood from old wardrobes, shelves or packing cases. I completed the hull and deck construction of the one illustrated in about 3 weeks of part time pottering. Final painting and fitting out took a bit longer.
Plans for all types are available and some can be downloaded free of charge. Cost of construction depends mostly on the standard to which you want to fit the boat out, since boat gear can be quite expensive even if you've built the hull very cheaply. I usually buy old dinghy fittings off eBay, but recently I bought a really cheap complete old sailing dinghy for a few quid, sold the mast and sails to recover my investment and then stripped at least a hundred pounds worth of fittings from it to complete restoration work on another 1960s boat that I recently saved from the scrapheap.
If you would prefer to buy than build, I think you will find second hand boats are cheaper in UK than France. Try eBay.co.uk.
