Good morning,
I thought I would start a new top after having read a discussion on S1, etc.
One of the posts I read mentioned that not all healthcare expenses were covered by the S1 (for those in receipt of a UK government pension) - it had to do with physiotherapy if I remember correctly.
Having done a bit of a search, I have come across the notion of "essential healthcare" :
on this website : http://www.frenchpropertylinks.com/essential/health-care-france.html
If you are receiving a State pension, you should apply for an S1 form (previously E121), which will entitle you to ‘essential care’. This will also cover around 70% of the costs of care. The remainder must be paid by you personally or via a top up insurance policy.

I admit I haven't contacted CPAM on this subject yet but my past experience in trying to obtain information on anything that involves another country has been very, very bad,
so , I thought I would ask on this forum if anybody else had come across this notion and had any light to throw on the subject.
Any help much apprceciated,
Dominique
