I'm having to set up as an AE in January as my husband can no longer work. I'm a qualified TEFL teacher which would be my main activity but in order to make up money I wanted to be a femme de ménage as well.
Does anyone know if it's possible to list two unrelated activities?
TIA
So true! Although looking at that, I might suggest a move to Spain to my husband.

I'm going to go and see some agencies tomorrow and ask what they need from me/how they pay. I suspect it's cheque emploi so the AE could just be the teaching. I never thought I'd say this but I miss PAYE!
If you are cleaning through an agency, would they actually require you to be self-employed, or would you be temping as a kind of "salaried" worker where cotisations etc. are deducted at source by your "employer"? In this case, you can do this alongside your AE business. It's probably best to ask an accountant.
I don't know Catherine but my wife would love to be a femme de menage - she's very into washing up, polishing and ironing. We're in the Creuse so...
Wow, thanks for the fast reply!
I'm looking at finding my teaching myself but cleaning through an agency. Would this have any effect on either of the options?
The AE should not be an issue, as both activities are "prestation de services".
Teaching is fairly straightforward.
However, your ménage needs to be declared as "services à la personne".... not compulsory, but your clients will not be able to get associated tax breaks if you do not.

Another solution is to work as AE for teaching, and ask clients to pay for your cleaning work by CESU https://www.cesu.urssaf.fr/cesweb/faqemployeurbancaire.jsp
This may indeed work better, because CESU income is considered salaried income and not included in your 32000 turnover limit as an AE.
Hope this helps.
