deleted - I’m wrong!

Does anyone yet know, if you have obtained a 6 month extended non-working visitors visa, like I do most years, do you need an ETIAS as well or does the visa replace the ETIAS?

No you don’t , according to the website of Fabien (see visas tab at top of the page)

Then visa has your biometrics anyway during the application process?

ETIAS and EES are related but not the same thing.

As I understand it, EES is the biometric bit where they take your details on first entry to the Schengen Zone, whereas ETIAS is the equivalent to the American ESTA - a visa waiver that visitors who do not have an actual visa will have to apply for in advance of travel.

So visa holders might get EES-ed the first time they come through, but won’t need to apply for ETIAS when that eventually comes online.

Or the UK ETA - funny how a lot of Brits complaining about ETIAS/EES forget we have our own scheme (and, yes, visitors to the UK from France need an ETA which costs £16 for 6 months, just to get the cost of ETIAS into perspective).

It’s what they voted for in 2016. More red tape.

Bet they don’t set it up on Dover beach :umbrella_on_ground:

A row of trebuchets might be an idea.

Are you sure they were showing yesterday, on TV, a group of swimmers on Dover beach, intending to swim to France

St Malo is by far the prettiest port to enter.

Always fancied an apartment in the intra muros but don’t have that kind of money.

Would also quite fancy an apartment in the old centre of Florence, but don’t have that kind of money either

Not Manila I presume. Is intra muros St Malo more expensive than Antibes old town?

I have sailed to St Malo several times and the approach is beautiful, especially at low tide.

i have no idea. Se Loger says the average price for 50m2 is €250k

Thank heavens that those of us with CdSWA do not need anything like this :+1:

Hmm, sounds similar at 5k m2, maybe 5k for Antibes Old Town is at a lower end though…

What can I say, they are at the FAFO stage :woman_shrugging:

Many thanks for that update. Pity the Visa office in London didn’t know when I asked them last week. Idiots!
