Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that no machine intelligence yet exists that can pass a Turing test.

I agree completely. Anything you can do with an “if” statement isn’t intelligent…
However, the problem is not whether it actually is intelligent, more that it is the term people use to describe it to make it sound better than it is… otherwise known, I think, as marketing?
